Hear Katie Garding’s story on podcast produced by Alberton HS students

Katie Garding was wrongfully convicted for a 2008 vehicular homicide after her ex-boyfriend falsely accused her in exchange for leniency in his own case. At her trial, she received ineffective representation when her attorney failed to consult an accident reconstruction expert.

Katie’s Story is a four-episode podcast series that will unpack Montana Innocence Project client Katie Garding’s wrongful conviction story. The series explores the innocence issues of incentivized witness testimony and ineffective assistance of counsel and looks at the real-world impact of wrongful convictions on families. We also provide a much-anticipated update on where her case stands today.
