The Montana Innocence Project is hosting a fundraiser at this year’s Maggotfest, Missoula’s world famous rugby tournament, to support our summer journalism internship program.
The fundraiser is in memory of Spencer Veysey who was a prominent member of Missoula’s rugby community, serving as President of the Jesters, and an investigator for MTIP. Spencer, who began his tenure with MTIP as an investigative journalism student, was instrumental in freeing seven innocent people from wrongful incarceration. All donations will directly support the work of MTIP’s summer journalism intern.
We will collect donations at Maggotfest held at the Fort Missoula Regional Park on Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A computer will be provided for those who prefer to make online donations.
