Join the Montana Innocence Project on Friday, September 30 to observe Wrongful Conviction Day! We will host three events in recognition of this year’s theme “Collective Impact.”
Indigenous Justice Rally
When: Friday, September 30 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Where: Missoula County Courthouse Lawn
Meet us at the courthouse lawn to hear from impacted community members about the broad implications that wrongful and unjust convictions of Indigenous Peoples have for friends, families, and communities-at-large, and rally support for transformative change.
Wrongful Conviction Day Trivia (win MTIP merch!)
When: Friday, September 30 from 6 – 6:45 p.m.
Where: Imagine Nation Brewing Company
Play for a chance to win the Montana Innocence Project’s newly released merchandise. We will host three rounds with the following topics: wrongful conviction facts, Montana criminal justice, and advocacy. First, second, and third place winners get to select an item of merchandise to take home for free. We will also have merchandise for sale for other attendees. Merchandise will include t-shirts, coffee mugs, and stickers.
During this event, those who make donations to the Montana Innocence Project of $10+ will receive a ticket for a free Imagine beer!
Freeing the Innocent: Learn About & Support MTIP’s Current Clients
When: Friday, September 30 from 7 – 8 p.m.
Where: Event Room at Imagine Nation Brewing Company
Montana Innocence Project Executive Director Amy Sings In The Timber and Legal Director Caiti Carpenter will provide an overview of our current cases followed by a Q&A. The event will feature photos of current clients and opportunities to write them notes of support.
