‘To be treated like a normal person:’ MTIP client Aaron Oliphant on working for Montana State Prison’s wildland firefighting crew

Montana Innocence Project client Aaron Oliphant has been wrongfully incarcerated at Montana State Prison for five years, and he is about to begin his third season on the prison’s wildland firefighting crew.

It is an experience that has made him feel more like a “normal person” while imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. He intends to continue his career as a wildland firefighter upon release. Watch Aaron discuss his experience.
